Abstract |
Eosinophilic panniculitis is characterized by a predominant infiltration of eosinophils in the subcutaneous fat lobules. It has
been presented in patients with a variety of clinical conditions including parasitic infestation, eczema, drug, insect bite, systemic
vasculitis and allergy. Sparganosis is a parasitic infestation caused by the plerocercoid larva, Sparganum mansoni. Herein, we
present a case of eosinophilic panniculitis caused by sparganum. The final diagnosis was confirmed through the histopathologic
findings and serum ELISA tests. |
