Abstract |
Cervical pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic gestation in which the blastocyst implants in the cervical mucosa below the histologic cervical os. Cervical pregnancy is a potentially life-threatening form of extrauterine pregnancy that is associated with unexpected occurrence of uncontrollable hemorrhage from the uterine cervix. Because of that, hysterectomy was usually done in the management of cervical pregnancy. Thus the patient loses her fertility potential. However, to avoid hysterectomy and to maintain fertility. conservative treatment is desirable for women who want to be pregnancy in the future. Methotrexate has been Utilized recently for conservative management of cervical pregnancy. This is a case of cervical pregnancy which was treated successfully with intramuscular methotrexate injection. |
